Image of Antony Fawcus, author of poetry and short stories

Antony Fawcus was born in England in 1943. He spent most of his childhood in boarding schools there, whilst occasionally visiting his parents who worked in Singapore. He now lives in Adelaide, South Australia. He has a son and a daughter who make him immensely proud, a wife whom he loves dearly, and two grandchildren and a Miniature Schnauzer who keep him on his toes.

He spent sixteen years as an RAF navigator before migrating to Australia in 1981. For the next twenty-five years, he had the good fortune to teach young children, mostly at Pembroke Junior School, before purchasing a small farming property on the Fleurieu Peninsula, which overlooked the Great Southern Ocean.

He and his wife, Wendy, spent several years restoring the State Heritage buildings and recreating the gardens. They ran the original 1840s cottage as a Bed & Breakfast until two years ago, when they sold up and returned to the city. He wrote most of his poetry and three novels during those idyllic years.
